In early June I recorded at Abbey Road studios the score to “Kon-Tiki” with composer Johan Soderqvist. The score was performed by the Philharmonia Orchestra. The film is the most expensive Norwegian film to date and tells the true story of Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl’s epic voyage on a balsa-wood raft across the Pacific Ocean in 1947. Heyerdahl and his crew travelled across open sea to prove his scientific theory that the Polynesian people originally came from Peru in South America.
You can read the detail of the movie on IMDB here. Meanwhile, you can hear extracts from the score in the trailer.
